Commissions
How long does a commission take?
It depends on the size and medium, and resin needs extra time to cure. You'll get a timeline with your proposal. Have a date in mind, like a birthday or anniversary? Tell me in the form and we'll plan around it.
Will I see it before it's finished?
Yes. I'll send you one progress update partway through, and you'll see the finished piece before it's delivered.
Can I ask for changes?
You're part of the creative direction from the start. We choose the composition, colors, and size together, and you approve the plan before I begin. Once I start painting, the piece is in my hands, so I don't make changes after that.
Is framing included?
Every piece can be finished with a frame I build by hand in my studio. Framing options are included in your proposal.
Do you deliver or ship?
I ship anywhere, packed by hand. Shipping is quoted separately. In San Diego, you can pick up from my studio or I'll deliver.
Preserved flowers
When should I book?
As soon as you have your date. Your flowers need to come to me within days of your event, so your spot has to be reserved ahead of time.
How do I get my flowers to you?
Drop them off at my studio in Pacific Beach or ship them to me within a few days of your event. Until then, keep them in water somewhere cool and out of the sun. Once you book, I'll send you everything you need, including how to pack them.
Can you preserve flowers that are already dried?
Often, yes. Send me a photo and I'll tell you what's possible.
Will my flowers keep their color?
Drying changes flowers a little. Some colors deepen or soften, and that's part of their beauty. I'll tell you what to expect before we design your piece.
What if I don't have flowers?
I can choose and source them for you. Tell me the flowers or colors you love, or let me help you choose.
Portraits & events
How do portraits work?
I paint from a photo, from a private session or images you love. You choose the composition and colors with me. While I paint, you're welcome to come to the studio and watch, or I'll send you a progress photo. Once I start, I don't make changes. You always decide whether your painting is shared or stays private.
What's included in a paint party?
All the supplies, setup, and cleanup. Host at my gallery space in San Diego, or I'll bring the experience to you.
