Original paintings and mixed-media works by Nadeen Ali in San Diego, California.

Nadeen Ali is a contemporary mixed-media artist whose work explores the interconnectedness of nature, the body, and human experience through abstraction, expressionism, and material experimentation.

Her practice is as physical as it is intuitive. Paint is poured, canvases are moved, surfaces are built up, broken apart, and reassembled. Forms emerge from spontaneous gestures, while layers of color, texture, and reflective materials create depth that shifts with light and perspective.

Moving between intention and chance, Ali allows each piece to develop its own history. Some works come together in a single day; others evolve over years, with earlier compositions becoming part of something entirely new.

Her work invites wonder and close observation, revealing beauty in the unexpected and challenging the idea that a finished piece, or the possibilities within it, can ever be fully predetermined.

I live in a place with rainbows and butterflies where everything eventually dies, so we might as well make something beautiful while we're here.
